UPDATE: Generation E Youth Festival a Huge Success.
Novembers Youth Festival was a huge success. Featuring four extraordinary speakers from activist organizations around the DMV, the event was characterized by intense optimist for the future and youth empowerment. Over fifty people attended, about two-thirds under the age of twenty, and hundreds of dollars were raised for youth lobbying.
Generation E PAC will be hosting its first ever Youth Festival. Representatives from the Citizens’ Climate Lobby D.C. Chapter, Maryland Clean Energy Jobs Initiative, and Carbon Price DC will be giving presentations on bipartisan climate action, how to launch a political initiative, and climate lobbying in D.C. There will also be live music, food trucks, information on how to join and support Generation E, and networking tables with various activist and youth-run environmentalist groups from the DMV. The event is free to attend, and all are welcome.
November 11 from 3:00-7:30pm at St. Bartholomew’s Church (6900 River Road) in Bethesda, MD.
The event will feature speakers from a variety of environmental organizations who will present on ways anyone can make a change in the political process.
Citizen's Climate Lobby
Presented by Ms. Debbie Chang and Mr. Lukas Lehmann
Volunteers from Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) will present a workshop how to advocate for climate legislation through a mix of political “levers”. CCL aims to create the political will for climate solutions by enabling individual breakthroughs in the exercise of personal and political power. It is an international nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. CCL’s goal is to educate and create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. By building upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering supporters, they work toward the adoption of fair, effective and sustainable climate change solutions. Their motto is, “Building political will for a livable world.”
